Robo-Nav: TomTom navigation software is now available on android smartphones

TomTom have announced that their navigation app for Android is now available to download from Google Play. The driver-focused navigation software joins the existing navigation app for iPhone, bringing TomTom direction-finding usability to millions more smartphone users.

The key benefits of this software, according to TomTom, are that the maps are included and stored offline, meaning that users will still have access to their routing even if signal is temporarily lost, and there’s no danger of racking up roaming charges when travelling overseas. Android smartphone users will also benefit from free quarterly map updates.

TomTom Navigation app for Android is available now at a special introductory offer from the Google Play store, priced at £30.99 for the UK/Ireland map and £39.99 for Western Europe.

All major features from other TomTom navigation software is incorporated into the software, including: IQ Routes which offers the fastest most reliable route for the time of day; Advanced Lane Guidance, which provides extra clarity at difficult junctions, in addition to Spoken Street Names and Speed camera alerts.
There’s also full integration with Android smartphone contacts.
